It’s All About Expectation, Hope, and Faith!

There is still much work ahead to be done and much more that we can give of ourselves. Many times when we work a bit harder we tend to act all exhausted making a big deal, as if we have done the impossible. The reality is that we wouldn’t expect any less coming from ourselves, we know deep inside that if we really want, we can do a lot more than what we already do.
It is all about what we expect from ourselves, from others, and from the world in general. If we have no expectations for us, then what can we expect to happen? Our results will be what we put in our minds. If we expect nothing or expect little, that is exactly what we are going to get “Nothing or Little” of whatever we are pursuing.
What do we want for ourselves? Has the answer to this question been “nothing”? Off course not, I am sure there was a time we wanted everything and even to conquer the world. Remember those times when our expectations were limitless and had fear of nothing. Then, what happened? A few problems here and there, and suddenly we stopped expecting things for ourselves, which in the long run ends up affecting everything around us. It affects everything -our self-steam, what we do for work, and the kind of relationships we are in, if any. Bottom line is we must have expectations for ourselves, others, and the world in general. Without expectations is like living dead. There is a story a read in a book which talked about people that were serving long term and life term sentences in prison. Since they knew that every day of their lives they were going to be locked up and not doing anything or going anywhere, they lost any expectation they had for themselves and everything in life.
It is sad that even though many of us are not locked up in a jail, we act as if we were. We live without having any expectation, hope, or faith for our life. If we have expectations for anything, then we will have hope for something good in our lives, and then faith will take place and growth will occur within us.
