“The Power of Creativity” now on display at Anythink Libraries

“The Power of Creativity,” a traveling exhibit that celebrates some of the most creative minds of our time, is now on display at Anythink Wright Farms. The exhibit features little-known facts and characteristics of innovators like Dr. Seuss and Thomas Edison, and encourages library customers to identify the same qualities within themselves, be it originality, curiosity, open-mindedness, risk-taking, connecting or productivity. Sponsored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the exhibit marks the official launch of an ongoing project that supports creativity and curiosity.

“Creativity and innovation are critical elements of a successful life, a successful community,” says Pam Sandlian Smith, Anythink director. “Creative people lead happier, healthier lives, and that’s what Anythink is all about.”

In December 2010, Anythink was awarded the National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor for museums and libraries. The annual award, made by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, recognizes institutions for their outstanding contributions to their communities. Award funds from this prestigious honor subsidized the creation of this one-of-a-kind exhibit.

“The Power of Creativity” will travel to various other Anythink locations throughout 2012 so that community members throughout Adams County get an opportunity to see the exhibit.
