Three Strikes and You’re out! |

Three chances and you are finished, seems like we have adopted this phrase everywhere in our society today. You can see this applied in corporate America and even in our personal life. We have this phrase programed in our brain as if it was thought in school or at church. What is absurd is that we tend to obey and live by this rule. Don’t believe everything you hear, experience it and then use your judgment. For example, in our personal relationships, who doesn’t have a three rule strike out? When we start dating, the pursuer –either the male or the female– has a better chance in staying in the game by not striking out three times. Is it true? We tend to think that if we don’t follow this rule, we might be cursed or it could bring us bad luck. None of the above is true. If you believe and live by a three strike-out rule, then you’re just limiting yourself by not allowing many more opportunities to take part in life! We must know that this rule or phrase might work for some things but not for everything. We have this phrase imbedded so deep in our bones and running thru our veins, that even when we try to accomplish anything or do something like passing a test; or even if we are gambling, we believe ‘the third time is the charm or I’m out!’ This phrase is so deep programed in our brains and we don’t even realize it. The only thing that we can achieve by keeping this phrase in our vocabulary is failure. What I believe and what I can tell you from my own experience, is that the three strikes and you’re out rule is a pretty good rule that works great in the game of baseball and maybe in some laws where giving someone three chances seems quite fair.
