ROBERTO TORRES
Germán González-Flores El Comercio de Colorado
Roberto Torres is a man who is very attached to the “charrería.” It is an activity that allows him to pass on some of the Mexican culture to people living in the U.S., especially in Colorado. This man, originally from Rancho Viejo, Michoacán also shared with us an event he defines as “being born again,” when he had open heart surgery on 2011.
Roberto was interviewed by El Comercio de Colorado and he said he came to Denver when he was 19 years old, in 1969. He came on his own, and like every immigrant, he says “I came alone and wanting to get ahead in life.”

Germán González-Flores El Comercio de Colorado
Another small step. The initiative for driver’s licenses, identified as 2011-2012#52 was approved, after a meeting took place at the Secretary of State office. Three votes in favor were enough to keep the dream of the undocumented community alive.
If in a period of 7 days, after February 15th, when an audience took place before representatives of the Secretary of State, the Legislative Office and the Colorado Attorney General, no one opposes this initiative, then the next step will be to gather 85,105 signatures of registered voters.
